Thoughtful care, offered with transparency and intention.
Thoughtful Care Requires Sustainability
At Kindred, pricing is set with intention and care.
The rate reflects not only the time spent providing support, but the responsibility, presence, preparation, and sustainability required to offer care that is reliable, ethical, and human.
Kindred is built to support both the people receiving care and the caregiver providing it — so that care can remain steady, grounded, and long-term.
Standard Rate
$45 per hour
2-hour minimum per visit
This allows time for care to unfold gently without rushing, and supports meaningful, presence-based support rather than task-only visits.
Why the Rate Is Structured This Way
Kindred is a small, values-driven business, and this rate helps cover the full scope of care work — much of which happens beyond the visible hours in a home.
Your rate supports:
- Time spent providing in-home support with full presence and attention
- Preparation before visits and reflection after visits
- Transportation time and fuel
- Supplies used during care
- Insurance and licensing costs
- Business tools, scheduling systems, and communication platforms
- Continuing education and training
- Taxes and required self-employment expenses
- The ability to provide consistent, dependable care
It also supports my ability to care for my own small family, maintain stability, and continue offering this work with integrity and sustainability.
Care that is underpaid is often rushed or unsustainable.
Kindred is intentionally built to be different.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this medical or clinical care?
No. Kindred provides non-medical, in-home support. This means care focused on daily life, companionship, emotional grounding, and practical help — not diagnosis, treatment, or medical decision-making.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Kindred is a private-pay service and does not bill insurance. This allows care to remain flexible, relational, and centered on individual needs rather than insurance requirements.
What does a typical visit look like?
Each visit is different. Support may include companionship, gentle conversation, light household help, routine support, or simply being present. Care is shaped collaboratively based on what feels most supportive that day.
Do I have to commit to ongoing care?
No. There is no long-term contract or obligation. Some clients receive short-term support during a difficult season, while others choose ongoing visits. You are always free to pause or adjust care.
How does the sliding scale work?
A limited number of sliding-scale spaces are available for those experiencing temporary financial hardship. This is handled through open conversation, not paperwork or proof. Availability is limited to ensure sustainability.
